❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need to program the ECU after I receive it back? No. This is a 100% Plug & Play service. Because we transfer the unique immobiliser data and coding from your original unit, the car will recognise the new ECU exactly as it did the old one. Just plug it in and start the engine.

Does my donor ECU need to have the exact same part number? For the best results, yes. Ideally, the 39110-XXXXX (OEM) and the 0281XXXXXX (Bosch) numbers should match. However, we can often clone across compatible hardware "families." If you are unsure if your donor unit is compatible, please message us with a photo of both ECU labels before purchasing.

What if my original ECU has "No Communication" on a scanner? If your ECU is completely "dead" and won't talk to a diagnostic tool, a standard clone may not be possible. In these cases, we may be able to perform an Immobiliser Bypass (Immo-Off) on your donor unit or extract data directly from the microprocessor. Please contact us first if your unit is non-responsive.

Is my mileage affected? No. On Hyundai and Kia vehicles, the main mileage record is stored in the Instrument Cluster (speedo) and the BCM. Cloning the ECU will not change your odometer reading.

Can you clone an ECU that has been remapped? Yes. If your original ECU has a performance remap, that software will be transferred to the donor unit along with your vehicle data, unless you specifically ask us to use a "stock" software file.
